Family Archive
A maintainable, permission-aware digital archive connecting family relationships, personal stories and historical sources.
The problem
Traditional family trees record relationships well, but struggle to hold personal stories, photographs, oral history and source evidence. This project explores a durable digital archive that can grow over time while respecting each family member’s privacy.
Design direction
- Model people, relationships, events, locations and sources separately.
- Give family members explicit viewing and editing permissions.
- Preserve sources and uncertainty instead of turning assumptions into facts.
- Keep data portable and durable rather than tying it to one interface or service.
Disclosure
The current page contains no real family information and offers no public demo. Any future demonstration will use a fully fictional dataset.
